Kevin Seraphin (born December 7, 1989, in Cayenne, French Guiana) is a French professional basketball player who was drafted 17th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls. He was subsequently traded to the Washington Wizards after being drafted, along with Kirk Hinrich and cash. He is listed at 6 feet 9 inches (2.06 m) tall and he plays the power forward and center positions.

Pro career

Seraphin only began to play basketball in 2004.[1] He joined the Cholet Basket Youth Academy in 2006 before joining the senior team and make his professional debut in the 2008-09 season with Cholet Basket in the French Pro A League. In 69 games with Cholet Basket, he averaged 4.56 points and 3.52 rebounds in 12.6 minutes in French Pro A League, EuroChallenge and EuroCup competitions.[2]

He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the seventeenth overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. However on July 8, 2010, Seraphin was traded to the Washington Wizards along with Kirk Hinrich in exchange for draft rights to Vladimir Veremeenko.[3]

On September 20, 2011, he signed a contract to play for Caja Laboral in Spain during the 2011 NBA lockout.[4]

French national team

Seraphin was named to the All-Tournament team of the FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship 2009 after helping France to win the silver medal. He was member of the team in 2011, and France reached the finals of the FIBA European Championship, losing to Spain.[5]
